Suburban Wilderness

I live in one of the prettiest places in the world. My town is on a river and it's very picturesque, small, old timey and I still run into some of my classmates at Target. Even better, right by my house, in the middle of a suburban neighborhood is a little lake that seems like a wilderness! Every once in awhile a deer will find it's way through the neighborhood and munch on the hostas in my backyard. It seems idyllic, and in many ways it is!

We walk almost every day and we got caught out in the rain last night... as we were passing a house we could see the t.v. through their window and it was showing tornado warnings... We made it home safely, but of course we were wet. Outside of being afraid one of us would get hit by lightning, it was really fun! I highly recommend walking in the rain!

Faux Pearls of Wisdom

Today's comic is about a subject very close to me, autism. I don't talk about it a lot out of respect for the members of my family who live with the challenges every day. I never thought I would have to deal with those challenges as a parent and there are many times I struggle with it, but there are also some really cool things that happen because of it! Thankfully, our family has a huge sense of humor and that's how we get through our days!

Anyway, I have actually met people who have told me these things (and other crazy things) about Autism and Attention Deficit Disorder and how I should parent. Lamp affords me the opportunity to respond without restraint.

But hey! Enough with the serious stuff... it's just that the comic makes better sense if you know!

Dance Party or Matt's Bad Mood Detox

Your comic friend and mine, Matt Graupman of Stay at Home Matt fame, has been in a bad mood of late. Since he is such a supportive, encouraging and wonderful friend, I thought I would make a comic to cheer him up. Come on everybody, crank up your stereo and join in! It's a Dance Party!!!! Woo Hoo!!!

Weak in the Knees

Today's comic happened last Wednesday after a nice evening at a friend's house on the river. Not a very nice ending to the night, but hey, these things happen.

Outside of a nice purple bruise on my knee, there was no major harm done. I am a survivor. A wimp who cries, but still a survivor.

An Unexpected Return

Lamp returns today... if you didn't see his departure, check this out first: Obedience, Back and Forth, and It'll Come Back Around.

I'm doing a lot of experimenting with my drawing lately and just decided to post whatever I come up with hoping that seeing the changes and (hopefully) good development will be interesting.

Have a great day! Thanks for stopping by!

Humour de la Macabre

More experimentation with black and white... the process is painstaking, but the result is nice.

Out of My Way!

Hi All!
Here is a comic of my adventure yesterday.
The first version is my fave,
but it doesn't quite convey what really happened...

Here is a more accurate version:

Catastrophe averted. Barely.

If I get around to coloring this one, I'll repost... but it's been 5 days already and you deserve a new comic!

Manscaping

The Hub is so not the macho, chainsawing type which made his comment all the more hilarious. After a short while, the chainsaw went back to the hardware store and things returned to normal. Relatively.

Wiki Revelations

I used to think about this a lot when I was a kid and was reminded the other day when I was reading something on Wikipedia...
It never hurts to be reminded that you're not the center of the universe.

The End (I Think)

This is my official LOST epitaph. I'm hoping it will give me closure and allow me to close the door on my grief and move on with my life. Those who know me are tired of my moping and weeping, so I'll cowboy up, accept that whatever happened, happened and follow Christian Shephard into the light (figuratively speaking, of course).
Namaste, LOST. I will never forget you.
