Today's comic is dedicated to my bestie since 7th grade:Karen. We were playing a heated game of Words With Friends and had this conversation.

Maybe you had to be there.

Night of the Living Heads

I hope you had a fun Halloween! Bean had a couple other movie reviews but we didn't have a chance to finish them all before Halloween was over. So here's her last Halloween movie review.

In other news, I am spending a bit of time reassessing comics, my blog, art in general and my own creativity. It's all good! Just trying to focus on what I really want to do artistically... I plan on continuing posting anyway, so keep coming back!

And as always, I thank you so much for reading my comics! I wish you well on your own creative endeavors!

Until next time...

Bean's Movie Reviews: See This Movie!

This comic is a bit of a departure from what I usually do (which is autobiographical comics), but for me this blog is all about experimentation and learning, so I'm not opposed to trying something new.

This comic features a character I made up for fun. She's a combination of my daughter and me as a girl and a few other kids I've known through my years of teaching piano and working with youth in churches. Working with a new character (and a fictional one!) seems to spark a whole new set of ideas and inspiration. Give my girl a few comics and then tell me what you think. I'd love to hear from you so please leave a comment below!

And thank you for visiting my blog and reading my comics. (and hey, it's free, right?)

Black is Sexy

Lamp is bent on retiring from comics, but I talked him into letting me post the story of his first crush. He said after that he makes no promises.

Hope you all are doing well! I've missed you! Please leave a comment that you stopped by.

I plan on being back very soon. See you then!

P.S. If you're new to Mindzai Comics, go to the labels on the right side of the page and click on "Lamp". There you will find all you need to know about the Lamp that can talk.

The Great Minnesota Get Together

I guess summer is officially over. That's always a little sad for me. The last big thing we do in the summer is go to the State Fair. FYI: Phil didn't wear his tux to the Fair, but he did wear some nice khakis and a button shirt. WTH? You don't dress nice to go to the Fair. Oh well.

I do not usually like to get political in my comics, but I couldn't resist making a little note about Michelle Bachmann because she is from my town and I have met her. She is as scary as she seems. And you can take that any way you want to. My little allusion to her is because of this (NSFMom). That's all I'm going to say about that.

Thank, as always, for reading my comics! That makes me really happy.

More Annoying Things My Brother Did (part 3)

The third installment of annoying things my brother did when we were kids. I drew this the other day when I was waiting for my hub to finish playing a gig. Later I realized I had repeated myself from an earlier comic (that you can read here). I guess my brother's stupid fart jokes and the fact that he ate paper has somehow traumatized me. Or I'm just losing my mind. Either way.

Of course, I have to say that my brother is awesome and only slightly annoying now that we're adults. The only thing I ever did that was annoying was to give him snake bites. Oh, and once I threw his hand held game device out of the car window in a fit of rage. But he deserved that.

Not Quite Right

My mom grew up in the south with two older brothers. She lived on a peanut farm and actually lived in an army tent for part of her childhood. She's a girly girl, but she's also really tough. Even though she's lived in Minnesota for over 40 years, she still has her southern accent and idioms. So when you read this comic, be sure to imagine a nice southern drawl...

Something New

Tonight I spent an hour or soon my parents' deck telling poo stories. We laughed so hard I thought my dad was going to pass out! I could do an entire comic based on them... Today and for the next few comics I'm going to introduce you to my crazy mom and dad, Ed and Mary.
