After School

Today's comic features my 13 year old, Nathan. It's tricky to present a person adequately in comic form. I probably draw and portray myself the most accurately with my Hub being a close second. However, I started feeling a little inadequate today when I was informed by other members of my family that:

"You just can't capture the awesome that is Nathan in a comic."

While that may be true, I think I'll keep trying.

What, the Fork?

The Hub and I just spent four amazing days here:
On the North Shore of Lake Superior in Minnesota. It was idyllic, the weather was perfect and the moon romanced us every night! Like this:
Our trip was not without it's crazy moments. Like this lesson on "Fork Physics" that the Hub gave me one morning at breakfast. He gives breakfast lectures on electronics, philosophy and music techno gear too. I enjoyed this one about "capillary action" the most though. (And sorry for the overlooked misspelling. I'll have to go back and correct that one of these days.)

Cleaning Up Around Here

Hi There! Whew, it's been awhile since I've posted so it feels good to be back. Even though I haven't had much of a presence here of late, I've still been drawing, creating and learning some new software. It's been an awesome time of learning so that's been incredibly satisfying. I'll tell you more about that in the future. For now, I give to you my autobiographical comic "Brain Fog" which will chronicle my adventures with motherhood, wifehood (wifehood???), ADHD and Autism, and life as it comes. There will most likely be some conversations with my confidante and advisor "Lampy". (I just call him that, he doesn't really have a name because, well, he's a lamp and as such his character is just a figment of my imagination.) He's not the brightest bulb in the pack and he definitely gets on my nerves, but he's always thought provoking.

Well, thanks for stopping by! I hope you'll come back to read more comics... I am working on pulling together some sort of schedule for posting. I've gone back to work now too so I will have to do a bit of time management gymnastics. I can't tell you how happy I am to be here!

Til next time,
Robin

Time To Draw Comics

That's right. My favorite pen is missing. It was my fault, I think. I cleaned my pens and then somewhere after that, I misplaced it. I had to use a micron pen on this comic... my world is upside down.

Poo is Here!

There's a little dude over at Mythfits-Comic.blogspot.com that I kind of fell in love with a few weeks ago. Imagine my joy when I found out I could have this little guy for my very own??? Today's comic is a little tribute to my newest buddy, "Poo" and his creator, Justin Winslow of Mythfits comic!

To see a truly fine rendering of the cutest little pile of poo you'll ever see, click here!

A Mythfits Super Fan has created a sweet little Poo Doll that will be available soon on Justin's site. I jumped on the bandwagon early and received my own Poo Doll just a couple of days ago and I LOVE IT!

Behold!

And Poo on Birthday Cake!

He's the cutest!

Thanks to Dessy Tab  of Zpiderdzigh for creating the Poo Doll. Check out her site for other cute little creatures.

Thanks Justin and Dessy!!!

Free Comic Book Day!!!

Free Comic Book Day was a lot of fun. It was like a mini-convention, there was a ton of people and everyone was excited. I think we could've spent the whole day there talking to people and looking at stuff. If you have a chance to go next year, do it!!! You get a bunch of free stuff (always good!) and it's a fun way to celebrate comics! The Minnesota Con is in two weeks and we'll go to that too!

After Free Comic Book Day at the Source, we went to our comics class and that was awesome too! I'll post our first assignment soon...

Stay-At-Home Matt in the Mail!!!!!!

Okay, yesterday I got home from picking up my son at school, checked the mail and saw that my original art work from Matt Graupman had arrived!!! I LOVE getting mail, but even better I LOVE getting presents in the mail! THank you, Thank you Matt!!! I love it and it is magnificent! You completely, totally, utterly ROCK!!!! Yours will be sent shortly!

Here's a photo of the piece that Matt sent and you can see how small and beautifully detailed his drawing is. It is a sweet little treasure!

Actually, the page is smaller than it appears in the pic... I couldn't get it to size right. But anyway, there it is and I couldn't be more thrilled to own my own original Stay at Home Matt comic! (Oh and also super cool, Matt decorated the envelope it came in!)

P.S. As for my own little comic up there, sorry for the blue lines showing... I still haven't figured out how to get the gray comics to scan right. And how do you like that cool font on the title??? I have a font obsession. Sadly, there is no cure.

Gettin' Freaky

This comic probably won't make sense unless you've read yesterday's comic

Happy Saturday!
